Dance 1/2In this class we will learn the basics of ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, and tap dancing as well as their history and origins. We will explore rhythmic patterns, professional techniques, and create art that conveys our expressions and ideas!

Apex Dance Company (Honors)This company works at an advanced level that focuses on mastery of advanced technique, performance qualities, improvisation, mature choreographic skills and leadership both inside and outside of the studio. Company members perform in work for our Fall and Spring Concert. ADC Seniors also present a Senior Showcase at the Spring Concert.

Honors Ensemble 3/4In this intermediate level course, we explore ballet, modern, and jazz in depth and master beginning level skills to create products for our Spring Concert. This course participates in Guest Artist Week, auditions for ADCompany Work, and has an entry level costume fee. Dance 3/4 is only offered in the Spring at this time;

Meet ADCompanyADCompany is Apex High School's College Preparatory Dance Course. An honors performance based class, dancers are trained vigorously in modern and jazz with Mrs. Brady and get several guest artist opportunities throughout the year including 2 major guest artist weeks and 2 major guest artist residencies. Members of the Company go on to major in dance throughout their collegiate experiences and perform nationwide. ADCompany performs in the AHSDance Winter Concert, IMMERSE Showcase, Spring Concert, Apex and Cary Christmas Parades, Broughton High School's NCDPA, and several other school events and showcases. ADCompany takes their performances on tour to the community following each concert to give back.

Meet Mrs. Brady
Caroline Brady, originally from Fuquay-Varina, NC, teaches jazz, modern, ballet, tap, hip hop, yoga, and general dance classes at AHS. She is also the Director of ADCompany, Apex’s well known dance company. This is Mrs. Brady’s 5th year teaching in WCPSS after graduating East Carolina University’s BFA Program in Dance Education. Mrs. Brady has trained, taught, and studied in tap, modern, jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, ballroom, African, hip-hop, yoga, and other various styles in North Carolina as well as along the East Coast. An American Dance Festival Alumna, Mrs. Brady has performed works and studied notable choreographers like Danielle Sheather, Dirk Lumbard, Dave Ingram, John Dixon, Galina Panova, Ji-Eun Lee, Gerri Houlihan, and Teal Darkenwald. She regularly teaches all styles at the Holly Springs School of Dance in Holly Springs, NC and serves as a guest artist for several dance companies and studios. Mrs. Brady is also active in furthering her knowledge of dance through membership of the National Dance Education Organization and North Carolina Dance Education Organization. Her most recent accomplishment is winning the Diane Kent Parker Beginning Teacher of the Year award out of 400 nominations for her work as the Dance Co-Director at Ligon Magnet Middle School. She was also nominated as a 2020 NC School Hero for her work during the pandemic. Mrs. Brady loves her pug puppy, Charlie, coffee (what teacher doesn’t?), cooking, and spending time with her family and friends!
